Experienced Maintenance Millwright

Belco Forest Products leads the way in preservative treated and primed exterior wood millwork for use in residential and commercial construction projects.  Builders enjoy the beauty of natural wood that is also environmentally friendly, easy to install and built to last.  We’ve been partnering with the premier dealers and distributors across the country since our inception in 1978.

Belco Forest Products located in Shelton Washington is looking for an experienced Maintenance Millwright to join our growing team!

Essential Functions

  • Performs millwright work as related to the installation, repair and maintenance of mill machinery and equipment. Continuously learns mill processes, new technologies and codes.  Observes the federal, state and Company safety and operations rules.
  •  Troubleshoots problems, selects necessary tools and spare parts, transports tools and parts to the work area, repairs or rebuilds as required.
  • Accountable for the completion of scheduled and emergency repairs, installations, and inspection work as necessary.  Obtains verification of work completion through the company’s work order process.
  • Performs precision fitting, alignment, and installations by utilizing micrometers, dial indicators, feeler gauges, and specialty instruments. Adjusts new or existing installations for proper operation.
  • Splices and rigs rope and cable, oil and pack bearings, grease machinery, and performs pipe work as required.
  • Analyzes, sets-up, and tunes hydraulic and pneumatic control systems by utilizing hydraulic and pneumatic test gear.
  • Works with outside contractors, Belco maintenance millwrights to install and trouble shoot new mechanical installations and control systems.
  • Utilizes welding, mechanical, fabricating, tools and equipment as the job requires.
  • Performs job by referring to instructions, blueprints, sketches, schematics, diagrams and work orders. Writes, updates and maintains drawings, work orders as required.
  • Performs work on energized equipment to troubleshoot and test only.
  • Applies predictive technologies as appropriate and required.
  • Maintains equipment, work and shop areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Writes necessary maintenance reports and records as required.
  • Maintains mechanical parts inventory for area of responsibility. Orders parts through Company purchasing process as required for job completion.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions while working outside in the process of loading trucks and moving inventory. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and wood and paint debris.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Ability to climb on and out of a forklift safely and frequently throughout the workday.  The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects up to 50 pounds. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certification from a Technical College in field of the craft or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program preferred
  • Ability to operate a computer and utilize the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a small team to accomplish tasks required

Market Development Manager – San Antonio/Houston

Belco Forest Products located in Shelton Washington is looking for an experienced Market Development Manager for the San Antonio Texas region to join our growing team!

The Market Development Manager (MDM) is a remote (home office) outside sales role that is responsible for maximum wood volume sales growth and market penetration in an assigned region.  Using new and old tools to support maximum wood volume growth, revenue generation, and profitability. This role is accountable for developing the market for Belco products in a geographical region that will occasionally require overnight travel within the territory or bordering states. The MDM is responsible for maintaining existing business, identifying, and developing new regional consumption of Belco products through existing and new distribution channels for the residential and multifamily markets. The MDM for Belco works closely with builders, users, specifiers, dealers, and distributors to secure preference and written specification for our product. Reporting to the V.P. of Sales & Marketing, the MDM will be responsible for identifying customer needs, forecast sales growth, and develop relationships with key users, influencers, and decision makers.

  • Achieve established sales/revenue goals and metrics
  • Cultivate new relationships of trust and secure product specifications with designers, architects, building owners, contractors, builders, dealers, and distributors for Belco products 
  • Maintain existing relationships of trust with builders, dealers, and distribution partners as well as architects and designers
  • Advance our desired market share position by creating value to attract new users and channel partners through strategic planning and plan execution in your assigned region
  • Develop and deliver a high level of sales communication through specific activities, direct contact, presentations, and follow-up communications to close sales in a professional manner
  • Manage all daily activities through the company CRM including calendaring, task lists, notes, and opportunity management
  • Effectively communicate the full value derived from our products, service and system solutions to users and channel partners management and sales teams
  • Be self-motivated, a team player and accessible to customer needs
  • Prospect for new business-to-business partnerships (B2B), and builder/end user pull demand through management of pipeline opportunities
  • Create, plan, and deliver compelling presentations on Company products virtually and in-person to all levels of prospective customers
  • Be a technical expert on the Belco’s line of products including the use/durability of each, integrating value into customer strategic goals
  • Monitor competition by gathering current market information; pricing, products/new products, delivery schedules etc.
  • Manage customer complaints with solution recommendations to management
  • Must have valid driver’s license in good standing, reliable car, and ability and willingness to drive/travel over 50% of the time

Education, Experience and Demonstrated Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management or related fields preferred and/ or equivalent of five-years of sales or construction experience
  • Construction experience in single family residential construction management is desired
  • Five-years of experience with distribution channels, specifically the construction industry preferred
  • Five-years of experience in strategic value-added sales
  • Proven exceptional time management skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the consultative selling processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS, Outlook, and MileIQ) and other tools such as Adobe PDF products and Concur expense reporting applications
  • Excellent written, verbal, and remote communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong ongoing relationships through telephone calls and virtual meetings with prospective and existing customers

Supervisory Responsibility

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a home office or in the field. Belco will be provided with its own computer workstation and mobile telephone (or company stipend). This position often is required to drive a personal motor vehicle to customer offices and development sites. Belco highly values employee safety. When driving while on official company business, all safety guidelines regarding distracted driving should be observed, including use of cell phones and other electronic devices.

The MDM typically works in a quiet low stress environment. However, the environment may become more stressful when pending business deadlines and requirements must be met.
